The St. Francis Foundation is a not-for-profit organization created to support the work of St. Francis, whose mission is to encourage a healthy community by providing health education programs, informational services, and quality medical care without regard to race, religion, age, sex, or ability to pay. The purpose of the foundation is to seek, acquire, and manage funds contributed from public and private sources to support those programs and projects determined to be in accord with the mission of St. Francis. Such programs or services may be administered by St. Francis’s own medical or administrative professionals, or in collaboration with other local community agencies of compatible purpose.

Ways to Give

St. Francis Child Safety
Child Safety offers innovative programs aimed at reducing preventable injuries in children. Donating to this fund helps raise child safety seat awareness, and education is offered to parents, grandparents, daycare providers, and more.

St. Francis Emergency Relief
We are in this together!  You can make a difference today and support your nurses, physicians, caregivers and staff by donating to our Emergency Relief fund to provide necessary resources for healthcare professionals at this critical moment. Gifts of any size will make a positive impact in our community.

St. Francis Employee Stewardship (emergency assistance for employees)
Provides emergency financial assistance to help employees in times of need. You can help St. Francis employees by donating to the Employee Stewardship fund.

St. Francis General Program Support
Donations for general program support are designed to be distributed in support of our mission and areas tied to this year's campaign goals, such as equipment & technology, as well as emerging priority programs throughout the year.

St. Francis Nursing Scholarships for Continuing Education
St. Francis Foundation and nursing administration continue to partner in the nurse scholarship program.  In conjuction with the Tuition Reimbursement program, donating to this fund will help St. Francis provide a number of schoarships for nurses who want to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.

St. Francis Personal Emergency Response System
The Personal Emergency Response System is an in-home alert system that helps people live more independently. Donating to this fund helps offer the peace of mind of having fast access to help in case of falls or any medical emergency.

St. Francis Project Care (patient assistance)
Project Care is a financial assistance program that helps low-income patients or their families meet expenses resulting from their medical care, and aren't paid for by other sources.

Donations to this fund, administered through our Care Management or other departments, pay for indirect medical needs such as prescription assistance for someone who has no other way to buy medications, purchasing over-the-counter medical supplies and equipment, hotel accommodations to be close to a loved one who is a patient, and many other ways.

St. Francis Student Wellness Center
Donations to this fund help the student wellness center offer primary care, care for acute illness, and mental health services to students at Grand Island Senior High School and to students enrolled at Grand Island public middle schools.
