We are in the process of modifying existing space on the campus of CUMC-Bergan Mercy to establish a Simulation Center to serve our learners. Learners who will be using the Simulation Center include 1,500+ medical, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant and therapy students, along with 1,200+ CUMC-BM providers and staff members. This center will provide state-of-the-at simulation experiences and virtual learning that will directly improve patient care. For example, augmented reality mannequins will provide challenging scenarios such as cardiovascular disease, critical care, surgical procedures and other medical scenarios where seconds count and skill development saves lives. The availability of a functional and accessible simulation space is also essential to maintain competitiveness for recruiting the best student talend into our Creighton University residency programs and our hospitals.
